Complete Streets’ Multi-Modal Level of Service

The level of service models developed and pioneered by Sprinkle Consulting, the Bicycle LOS Model and the Pedestrian LOS Model, are the most widely used methods in the United States.  Numerous state, regional and local transportation agencies have adopted these cutting-edge techniques for evaluating their roadway networks.

Sprinkle Consulting was a central participant in developing the Multi-Modal Level of Service for Urban Streets, Project 3-70, of the National Cooperative Highway Research Program.  NCHRP Report 616 documents the findings of this of this study; the Highway Capacity Manual is now updated with this progressive approach toward providing complete streets.
